Compliance date for postal formal entry requirements extended to Jan 20, 2027 (procedural)

CBP extends the compliance date for 19 CFR 145.12(a)(2)(v) and (vi) — the formal-entry mandate for postal shipments subject to Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements, Chapter 98/99 duties, or Chapter 98/FTA duty-free claims, which are ineligible for the new postal informal entry process created by the June 24, 2026 interim final rule (91 FR 37801) that indefinitely suspended the de minimis exemption for international mail — from October 22, 2026 to January 20, 2027. Procedural extension only; no tariff-rate changes, and the de minimis suspension itself remains in effect (91 FR 66638).
